Michelle McDannald
Michelle is a single parent who works hard to make a better life for her daughter, Haley. Michelle has been working and going to school full time for the past four years. She studied to become a hygienist, but has since decided that what she has a passion for is to become a nurse! As a former care provider, she knew nursing would be a natural fit.Michelle entered the IDA program interested in saving to purchase her first home. She has been a participant in the Section 8 housing program, and wanted to buy her own home. However, as she approached her goal, she found she would need an increased income to make ends meet each month – so after working with her Dream$aver counselor, Michele decided to transfer her goal over and enroll in nursing school! She’s hoping to complete the program within two years.
“Being involved in the IDA gave me hope knowing that at the end of the program I would have help with college or purchasing a home. My goals have changed from time to time, but overall I am striving to gain a good career so I can successfully buy a home. It is a great program and it’s an awesome incentive program. It has kept me focused and working towards my goals.”
